RJ Camp Fitness & Martial Arts is a professionally run karate club relaunched in 2019 by Sensei Robert Camp, 3rd Dan Wado-Ryu Karate Do awarded by Sensei Eleni Labiri-Suzuki. Sensei Eleni is the chief instructor of Suzuki Ha Karate Do. She is the wife of late Professor Tatsuo Suzuki 8th Dan who was awarded the title “Hanshi” (master) in Japan by the International Budo Federation, 45 years old (1973) this was also the same year that Sensei Suzuki was awarded his 8th Dan. Wado Ryu was founded by Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei 10th Dan Meijin (Grand Master, ultimate title in all of martial arts). Sensei Ohtsuka was the first person in karate history to receive this award in 1972 presented by Higashikuni No Miya (a member of the royal family and President of the Kokusai Budo Renmei). We teach traditional Wado-Ryu Karate Do and are 1 of only 9 clubs across Europe his club that are affiliated with Suzuki Ha Karate Do. Sensei Robert Camp has competed as part of the English Karate Federation all styles karate team on several occasions, is numerous English, British and international open champion in WKF Kumite (fighting), he is also a professional karate fighter. Robert himself had the privilege of learning directly from Tatsuo Suzuki as a child and continues to teach his high standard of traditional karate.
